Challenge

This large School District was struggling with an outdated and insufficient wireless infrastructure that caused great frustration for students and staff.  Their login time on student devices averaged over 5 minutes and they not only needed to decrease login time but also increase coverage range and connectivity.

ETS architected and delivered a robust and reliable wireless infrastructure solution that not only addressed the current issues, but provided a core solution that would grow at the speed of wireless to accommodate more and more devices for student and staff members.

Process

Although wireless is prolific throughout major cities with WiFi available in many public places like hotels, airports, coffee shops and even public parks, it requires skill and knowledge to determine how and where to place controllers and access points.  ETS follows a comprehensive wireless assessment plan process which includes evaluating building plans and heat mapping to determine the most robust placement of devices and configuration so that maximum coverage is provided while reducing expenses with properly sized and places access points.

Results

Reduced capital expenses on wireless equipment while at the same time increasing connectivity providing robust and strong wireless signals to every corner of every building in the district.  Login times have decreased to less than 30 seconds even during peak times during assemblies and sporting events.
