Challenge

This local county government organization had internally hired staff to support their technology needs. At one point they had 1 full-time employee and 1 part-time employee and the high expense of wages and benefits that came with hiring internally. In addition, when it came to procuring IT equipment and implementing special projects they would outsource expertise to ETS to assist which added an additional expense to the IT budget.

Solution

When it came time for their IT Director to retire ETS was able to propose their Managed IT Services solution. This solution provided the county with access to a team of Engineers to address issues for all departments, monitor their systems 24X7 and reduce costs. ETS was selected as their IT services provider due to our familiarity with their systems and our knowledge and years of experience working with many clients in the public sector.

Process

ETS offered access to a service team, instead of just an individual, to initiate quick response and availability. A Lead Engineer was assigned to oversee the IT environment and act as a virtual CIO to address long-term technology needs. This Lead Engineer is scheduled for regular onsite visits to address non-emergency issues hands-on.

Results

The county was able to reduce cost by over 50% of what they were paying for internal resources by hiring ETS. Security has been tightened and they have been able to keep up with larger counties by increased technology efficiencies provided by ETS recommendations.

"On Friday Beto (Erb's Service Tech) was at Clipper to take meter readings. While here Beto learned of the troubles we'd been having when we submit duplex print jobs to one of our printers.
